Hikvision iDS-7108HQHI-M1/S – 8-ch 1080P Mini 1U H.265 AcuSense DVR
The Hikvision iDS-7108HQHI-M1/S is an 8-channel Turbo HD digital video recorder housed in a compact mini 1U chassis, built for sites needing more channels without a bulky recorder. Specifically, it accepts HDTVI, AHD, HDCVI, and CVBS analog inputs adaptively, and it also supports up to 12 IP camera channels when Enhanced IP mode is active. As a result, installers can mix analog and IP cameras across a larger site on one compact unit.
Meanwhile, deep-learning motion detection 2.0 runs on every analog channel by default, classifying humans and vehicles instead of reacting to every moving object. This, in turn, reduces false alerts caused by leaves, insects, or headlights. In addition, up to four channels support perimeter protection, giving line-crossing and intrusion detection around larger fenced boundaries.
Furthermore, the DVR records at up to 4 MP Lite resolution using efficient H.265 Pro+/H.265 Pro/H.265/H.264+/H.264 compression, which keeps storage costs manageable across 8 channels. On top of that, a single SATA bay supports drives up to 10 TB, and Hik-Connect enables remote viewing without complex network setup.

Who This DVR Suits Best
- Medium-sized shops and warehouses needing more channels – 8 analog inputs in a compact mini 1U chassis suit premises that have outgrown a 4-channel recorder but still want a small footprint.
- Perimeter-heavy compounds and gated estates – perimeter protection on up to 4 channels covers larger boundary lines than the 4-channel siblings.
- SME sites across Kenya needing remote oversight – Hik-Connect and DDNS give business owners phone-based access to footage without on-site IT support.
